Dances With Smurfs

I must thank my brilliant friend Andy for the biggest laugh of my day, which occurred when he referred to Avatar as Dances With Smurfs. I don't know if he was the originator of the quip, but it sounds like something he'd say. Love you, Andy. You rock!

  1. I suspect I am the only person in the world that has no clue what Avatar is, other than a movie of some kind.
    Shame on me.
Im glad that you got a good laugh...

  2. You should be ashamed. Parts of it were filmed in NZ. There are big blue aliens, hence the Smurf reference. And the moral message is very heavy handedly pro native culture, a la Dances With Wolves. I'm appalled to report that it is nominated for a best picture Golden Globe. If that's the best our planet can produce in the way of cinema, we should all be ashamed.

  4. I didn't hate it, but the plot/script/acting were all disappointing. The effects were fantastic. Total eye candy, paricularly if you like large blue naked aliens.
