I'm going to visit this tree tomorrow :) I fell in love with it and several of its fellows the last time I visited Crater Lake. We're talking about the beauty in the middle with her head held high and her arms stretched wide, like she is about to burst into song. Nowhere else in the world have the trees seemed more like ents to me.
This will be the world's shortest visit. I have a mere 23 hours for the entire trip, 8 of which will be taken up with driving and presumably there will be some sleep involved at some point. But I am going to see Gail the gorgeous and her lovely husband and son, so it's worth the drive.
